Highlights of the Wildlife and Ecology Immersion program include:
- Wildlife: there’s no other place in the lower 48 states you can see and experience the majestic beauty of all the wildlife species that existed before Lewis and Clark’s legendary expedition, including the Yellowstone Big 5: bison, bears, moose, bighorn sheep, and wolves.
- Explore the geology and natural wonders including Yellowstone falls, the Teton Mountain Range, and historic 1988 wildfires that burned nearly 1/3 of Yellowstone.
- Wolves: the 1995 reintroduction of wolves to this ecosystem is considered one of the most successful wildlife management programs ever implemented. Learn the backstories and the current life histories of the famous wolves of Yellowstone.
- Witness the incredible sights of the Old Faithful Geyser and Grand Prismatic Springs
- Experience the thrill of white water rafting on the Snake River
- Enjoy a scenic hike in Grand Teton National Park, taking in the majestic views, the sublime beauty of alpine lakes and impressive peaks of the Teton mountain range.
- Travel to the crest of the Teton Mountains via the Jackson Hole Tram. Locals call the tram Big Red and it ferries you up to the 10,000 ft peak of Rendezvous mountain.
