Itinerary

Experience in person the opportunity and hope your gifts make possible as you tour St. Labre School campuses. Visit classrooms, meet teachers and administrators, and interact with the school children. Experience the rich cultural tradition exploding to life in the dancing, drumming and pageantry of the annual Native American Day celebration. Enjoy awe-inspiring Yellowstone National Park, the Black Hills, and much more.

*Please note:  You arrive in Billings, MT, and depart from Rapid City, SD. Do NOT book your airfare until you are notified to do so by a Global Travel Alliance representative. 

September 20 | Arrive in Billings, MT.  Depending on your arrival time, the rest of the day is free to enjoy as you wish. In the evening, meet staff and fellow travelers at a welcome reception and dinner.

September 21 | Travel to Cody, WY, historic home of Buffalo Bill Cody and the Cody Museums – the Whitney Gallery, Plains Indian Museum, Cody Firearms Museum, & the Buffalo Bill Museum. Continue to the South Loop of Yellowstone National Park, Yellowstone Lake, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.  Anticipate close-up views of elk, bison, and a host of other wildlife. Overnight in West Yellowstone, MT.

September 22 | Loop through Yellowstone National Park; Fountain Paint Pots, Old Faithful Geyser, Mammoth Hot Springs’ calcium terraces.  Return to Billings, MT.

September 23 | Tour and meet students and staff of the Charles Mission School on the Crow Reservation, as well as Pretty Eagle Catholic Academy in St. Xavier, MT. Also see Chief Plenty Coups State Park & Museum. Return to Billings, MT.

September 24 | Explore Pompey’s Pillar National Monument, picnic near the banks of the Yellowstone River (weather permitting), visit the Little Bighorn Battlefield. Return to Billings, MT.

September 25 | Spend the day on the St. Labre Indian School campus in Ashland, MT. Tour the campus including classroom visits, St. Labre Museum, and church. Join the celebration of Native American Day with dancing, music and other cultural activities.  Transfer to Rapid City, SD. Evening free time.

September 26 | Tour the Crazy Horse Memorial and museum, a stunning tribute to the famous Oglala Sioux chief and world’s largest sculpture in progress. Visit with local Native American artisans. Mount Rushmore National Monument in the afternoon, followed by a farewell reception dinner in Rapid City, SD.

September 27 | Depart for home from Rapid City, SD! Hotel check out time is typically by 11:00am this day.
