Election Day 2015
8th grade class trips to Washington, D.C. showcase Democracy in action.
On a group field trip to D.C., students get asked a lot of questions and they also ask a lot of their own. Sometimes our tour guides let them explore freely and sometimes our tour guides teach them on-site. One of the most popular educational tour stops is Capitol Hill – home to Congress and the Supreme Court. Students often take a tour of the U.S. Capitol Building where they learn about the 3 Branches of Government and the System of Checks and Balances. These class trips are an opportunity to witness those things in person.
When students start to understand how our country works, they can start to make a difference. Access the Election Day 2015 lesson plan – CLICK HERE
